I've been working with projects during the last 10 years. I've participated in small, medium and really huge projects. The objectives of the projects (deliverables) were the most various that we can imagine (software development, infra-structure creation, product development, etc). In the begining I started working without any methodology. I was able to deliver what was requested, but always had that feeling that all the work could be done in a better way. 4 years ago, I was introduced to new concepts, new methodologies (RUP, PMBoK, CMMI, etc). At the first moment, to be truly honest, I said myself: this will not work. But atfer hard hours spent on all the stuff, I really figure out that all this methologies are really important in any kind or size of project. In my opinion, the worst thing that happened to me, was to be introduced in the new world directly with the "big" players of methodology (RUP, PMBok). For someone that never worked with this kind of stuff, reading that books, there is no funny and motivation to apply it on our day-by-day.
